Get a load of this gorgeous little garden pink...a little perennial that blooms its heart out with sumptuous double pink flowers that have the most fantastic clove scent. Let our expert David Wilson describe what he thinks about it. Join him as he discovers a group of plants on a shipping wagon in our nursery. Then look for it at one of the many garden centers across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states that are likely to be stocking it.
Developed by Whetman Pinks® and offered as part of their STAR DOUBLE™ Collection this beautiful little variety forms tidy compact blue-green mounds of semi-evergreen foliage and produces masses of its deeply fringed double lavender blooms in spring and early summer.
Hardy to USDA Zone 5. (-20°F or -28°C), it is repeat blooming and easy to grow in a sunny, well-drained spot.
Whetman Pinks are well known for their garden performance, they can be grown as single specimens in small beds and borders, or enjoyed en masse in grouped displays. They are excellent in container gardens around your patio, deck or swimming pool. Certainly somewhere where you can enjoy the wonderful spicy fragrance, and of course, you can snip blooms too and bring them indoors to make a delightful (and very fragrant) little flower arrangement.
