This is an early blooming clematis with ruby red bi-color flowers that change to fuchsia and even pink shades. As the flowers age, they fade to lavender with pink edges. It is a visual delight as the older flowers may appear with the new flowers making it seems as if two plants are growing together. Wonderful on trellises, arbors or twining up a sheltered fence or any sort of climber supports.
Clematis perform best in full sun with the roots shaded, so once planted mulch generously.
