An exciting new selection of a native species that we believe is the BEST Leucothoe we grow!
We love the compact habit, the arching habit, the evergreen foliage (that is red and bronze as young growth and turns a fantastic deep burgundy purple in autumn and winter).
In addition it produces clusters of little urn shaped flowers in spring, and when all is said and done, it is simply a GREAT CHOICE for shady and semi-shady sites, sloping area, woodland gardens or foundation plantings with dappled sun.
As part of the Hand Picked For You program, we have tested it for over four years and during that time we have NOT seen it succumb to leaf spot disease (anthracnose), a disease that unfortunately effects some other forms of Leucothoe.
